The First Kitchen was born when the perfect storm of my love of food, my passion for writing, and the acquisition of my first apartment (and first kitchen!) all collided in the summer of 2010. Though I’ve always loved cooking, I’ve never had to cook for myself on a regular basis until now. The First Kitchen documents my attempts at becoming a grown-up, one meal at a time.
Though I’m not vegetarian, most of my recipes are. I try to eat healthy, which includes lots of green things but also the occasional frenzied baking phase when I’m particularly stressed. The only thing I can promise you is that it will be delicious and it will be entertaining :)

Natalie, keep up the good work, I can’t wait to try some of your recipes, Deborah said you went on a muffin making frenzy last weekend and they enjoyed and ate every last one of them
Okay… So I decided to let you know how awesome your blog really is. I find it comforting to know that someone else who is personable, has tried to make this recipe that I am going to attempt. I use your blog frequently to make recipe’s, like enough for my friends to make fun… And buy me cookbooks, although, I explain its NOT the same because as you have expressed in most scenarios, THEY DON’T HAVE PICTURES(or at least any that make me want to attempt what they are making)… And in an odd sense I feel like it is beyond my ability to make what they are describing…Which is depressing. But I feel like your blog is so personable and makes me want to try. In fact I did not even know to attempt to make graham crackers until I read this blog… So a tip of the hat to you. Keep doing what you do! I appreciate it.
Wow, thank you! That is really sweet. It makes me happy to know that I’m helping out other cooks. I know how it feels to look at a recipe and think “I could never do that,” but you should do it anyway! What’s the worst that could happen? Thanks for dropping by and keep cooking!!
Hello!!
I think I have to use ALL your recipes. They are so different to my way of cooking but I LOVE this difference.Thank you very much for your sharing!!
Cristina
